I Treated Myself at The Detox Market!

Yesterday my parents came into the city and I took them to the Detox Market. I sure know how to show people a good time, huh? It's the cutest store, with really, really top notch products that I wanted to show them! I had been there before to write a post for Vegansaurus, and was blown away. It's very clean and beautiful inside. My friend Landon had a good time coming along with me (that first time), as it's just a fab place to be!

I picked up some products for myself (my Mom offered to pay, but I was like "It's okay! You're getting dinner later!). For soap and toothpaste, I think I paid $13.00. Whatever, I just want the grand things in life sometimes! I had gotten a sample of the toothpaste (actually many samples!) when I went in for research about the Vegansaurus post and I just knew the next time I went, the full-size would be mine! And now it is.

Organic Catcus Pear soap -- my elegance factor is going waaaay up! Plus Acai berry toothpaste? I know I won't be single for much longer!

Vegansaurus is Up for an Award!

The other blog I write for, Vegansaurus, is up for an award! How exciting! Vote for us, pretty please? If we win, it will give me a reason to keep living writing! Thank you!

In celebration, here is a picture of me hugging a tree. It happens.

Trader Joe's Gone Bananas! My favorite!

I love these.
I'm not really a dessert person (although my 12 year old self is like, 'What? Yeah, right') but sometimes I just want something small and sweet after dinner. These are perfect for that! Banana slices covered in chocolate? Yes, please!

I do still like sweets, don't get me wrong. But sugar makes me feel sick, and sometimes I get red in the face if I eat too much -- this started in my mid-20's. Agave doesn't bother me, though. Coconut, agave sweetened ice cream and chocolate covered banana slices it is!

Staycation! St Francis Fountain!

After over 2 1/2 years of living in San Francisco, I finally made it to St Francis Fountain. My pal, Sarah (and fellow Vegansaurus writer!) just moved down the street from the restaurant, so we went. First time for both! All I had heard were rave reviews of this place, from vegans and omnivores alike!

Pictured above are the most delicious tofu rancheros I've had in my LIFE! I get what all the fuss is about. I like places that cater to both vegans and non-vegans alike, because then you can bring even the pickiest of eaters (I think my sister would enjoy it! Or my brother-in-law. I need to catalog places I can take them when they visit the city because eating out with them is extremely difficult, as I am not into Chili's as a place that serves 'food'.)

I like how it looked (old-fashioned and kitschy) as well as how it smelled (like a diner, but not gross?). I also appreciate places that have vegan food on the menu that they don't haphazardly throw together. Vegans, you know what I'm talking about, right?

Seated near Sarah and I was a small family - a dad that took his two little kids to either a late lunch or early dinner. He ordered himself and old fashioned sundae shake (you can get vegan versions too!) which I just thought was the cutest. I like it when adults order that kind of stuff, I don't know why. I guess cause it reminds me that we all used to be kids?
